Update-New Name!

Introduction #2...

Lydia Cairn Clements

Yes, we signed the legal documents and announced it to the world then changed our baby girls name.  We love the name Cairn, and honestly didn't have any others we were even considering.  We did struggle on which pronunciation to use at first, but as soon as we figured that out-to use the proper one-we went forward with it.  I could never feel completely at ease with it.  Over the weekend we prayed and thought a lot about it and looked through several decades of names on the Social Security website.  In the end, we just had the order mixed up!  We love our Lydi so much!

I thought I'd throw in a couple more pictures from after the birth.  This is our amazing midwife Elizabeth weighing Lydia.  She was also our midwife when Melhena was born, so we have been able to get to know each other very well-so nice!

Drew cutting Lydia's cord like a pro.  I couldn't ask for a better Dula either.  He is amazing!

Drew has been super busy at work and we were not sure how we were going to manage when guess who calls the very next day to say she is a mile away...Grandma Goosey!  She drove Tuesday afternoon/night to get here ASAP.  We would not have survived without her last week, especially because I got really sick for a couple of days. We were so happy and grateful to have her! The kids were in heaven. See that pile of books on her lap?  She read them every single one and then more after!  The day after she had to go home for her BYU Graduation Ceremony (Yay!) Melhena asked me, "Can Grandma Goosey's house be here?"  We love you Mama D!

 Life now includes...
Sleeping, whenever possible.

Giving the baby her toy and touching her, constantly.

Dressing Lydia in pretty clothes.  Melhena's favorite thing to do.

And snuggling whenever possible.  She already is growing too fast!

Her name is beautiful-- my friend recently went through a similar experience with a name change on her 6 month old and she said that the hardest part of the whole thing was the reactions if others... In the end, you have to feel right about it! She is darling. I really admire the unselfishness of other " outdoor" parents who aren't afraid of adding to their families and recognizing that this stage of life is thrilling and exciting... Even if la sportive doesn't sponsor motherhood. Congrats to all of you!!
