The cairns we are familiar with are those found on unclear trails. Cairns are set to keep you on the right path. Our little Cairn is already doing this in our family. She has brought so much peace and love into our home.
Becky had a great pregnancy and the birth was about as uneventful (probably the wrong word) as a birth can be. Our wonderful friend, Brooke, picked up the kids at around 9:30 pm on Monday night and our fantastic midwife, Elizabeth, came over at about 10 pm. It was actually kind of hard to tell exactly when Becky was having contractions because she was so calm throughout. The whole night was very peaceful and special.
For the later part of the birth, Becky labored in the birthing pool (we highly recommend it) and at 2:21 am on Tuesday we got to meet Cairn following three big pushes!
We don't find out the gender of our children before they're born, so it's always a wonderful moment to discover what's been cooking for 9 months!
At birth, Cairn weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces (and hasn't lost much and is gaining since) and was 19 and 3/4 inches long.
Both Alvin and Melhena adore their new little sister and are VERY gentle - they're such great little kiddos!
