Canyons, Climbs, and Hikes...

OK, so even though it may look like we just have a ton of fun all the time, the reality is that... well... OK, yeah, we do have a lot of fun! But believe it or not, we do work... sometimes :)

Anyway, the pictures you see before you were taken on a canyoneering trip near Zion National Park, a climbing trip to St. George, and a hiking trip in Zion--the West Rim Trail.

On the canyoneering trip to Snake Alley, we had actually planned to take five of Becky's co-workers; But they all bailed out on us. So all of the beauty with new-fallen snow and a great little canyon were all ours! Because we got through the canyon so fast we also hiked a little on the Northgate Peaks trail, watched a movie, and ate some awesome turkey sandwiches that gave us onion breath for the rest of the day.

The day that we went climbing in St George actually began with a session at the St George Temple. We met up with Uncle Stewart for that, so it was really a great session.
Following the session, we went to the Green Gap for some climbing. It was pretty sunny and hot even for being late November, but the rock was pretty good. However, I forgot to bring our chalk, so some of the climbs were pretty tough because it was hard to keep our sweaty little mitts on the holds!
After climbing, we went to Stewart and Lisa's house for dinner. Uncle Kendall and his family also showed up, so the family home evening that followed was a lot of fun.

Climbing was on Monday, but Tuesday was a ton of fun, too. Because things are really slow now that were ending the season, we both had Tuesday off together. So we went hiking! We did a bottom-up version of the West Rim Trail. The hike was killer-stair-master quality (3000 foot elevation gain in 5 or 6 miles) so we were pretty much toast after going up it all, turning around, and coming back down. But the conversation and views made for an AMAZING day.
By the time we got to Angel's Landing it was dark, so we came down with Becky's headlamp and stopped every now and again to eat something and look at the stars. What a great night!
